摘要： 本文根据信息理论,从汉英对应语料库中的实际语料考察英汉语中表原因的连接成分是否具有引入已知信息与新信息的作用,并通过语料库有关原因连接成分的频率数据,逐一指出了各个常见的原因连接成分的信息分布概率和信息语用特征。文章还通过个案分析,说明英汉语在原因连接成分对应上的常规及变化情况。

Information lead-in function of causal conjunctives in English and Chinese: An empirical study based on parallel corpus data

Abstract: Based on the Information Theory, this paper investigates the information lead-in function of causal conjunctions in both English and Chinese by a Chinese-English Parallel Corpus. The information distribution probability and pragmatic features of the causal conjunctions are discussed according to the frequency data from the corpus. The paper ends with case observations for causal conjunctive uses in English-Chinese translations.
