摘要： 本研究基于英语专业学生四年的口语跟踪语料,依据复杂度、多样性和准确性三个指标,分析了英语专业学生口语产出中使用英语动词语法型式的变化特点。结果显示:无论是总体样本还是不同起点组别,英语专业学生四年口语产出中所使用动词语法型式在复杂度、多样性、准确性等维度的变化方面均呈非线性模式。此外,同一时间段内(一年中)的口语产出中英语动词语法型式的复杂度、多样性、准确性不会出现同步、同速发展。此结果验证了学习者语言发展的多维模块特征。

A longitudinal study of the use of verb patterns by Chinese English majors in oral performance

Abstract: The study investigated the longitudinal changes in the use of verb patterns (VPs) by 56 Chinese university English majors in oral performance over four years.It measured the changes by three indexes,namely,VP struc- tural complexity,VP variation and VP structural accuracy, and compared the results with similar monologues by a group of native speakers.The findings yielded show that VP structural complexity,VP variation and VP structur- al accuracy interacted in complicated ways,dcmonstrating no linear patterns. Besides, the three indexes studied were found not to develop at equal rates, usually with one increasing and the other two decreasing or having no significant change, and vice versa.
